Fabrics
Why we chose these fabrics
When we were deciding what LÉGÈRE would be made from, the question was simple: what feels best against your skin? Not what photographs well, not what holds its shape on a hanger — what actually feels good when you put it on and move through your day in it.
The answer was a blend built around modal. Fluid, light, and cool against the skin. We added a small amount of nylon for durability and shape retention, and spandex so the fabric moves with you rather than against you. Nothing constricts. Nothing pulls.
What is rayon?
Rayon (also known as viscose) is a semi-synthetic fibre made from plant-based cellulose — most often derived from wood pulp. It sits somewhere between natural and synthetic: it comes from nature, but is processed to create its final form.
What makes it particularly well-suited for loungewear is how it behaves: breathable, temperature-regulating, with a natural drape that makes it fall softly rather than stiffly. It feels closer to silk or cotton than to polyester.
Our blend is over 60% rayon, which is why the pieces have that particular quality — they feel substantial without being heavy.
Composition
All LÉGÈRE pieces are made from the same fabric: a blend of rayon/viscose (60%+), nylon, and spandex. The rayon gives softness and drape, the nylon adds longevity, and the spandex provides gentle stretch and recovery so the pieces keep their shape over time.
